I am a lifestyle writer and reporter based in New York who covers health, wellness, relationships, sex, beauty, and parenting.
My work has appeared in The New York Times, Harper's Bazaar, Vogue, Redbook, Men's Health, Racked, The Week, Men's Journal, Bustle, SheKnows, The Independent, and other publications. I find inspiration everywhere and have published essays, reported pieces, and profiles. A few examples of my favorite interviews include: award-winning journalist Nancy Jo Sales on the effect of pornography on children, etiquette expert Diane Gottsman on modern manners for Vogue.com, numerous high-profile dermatologists for science-based articles about skincare treatments for Harper's Bazaar and Redbook, and Fuller House actress Candace Cameron Bure, who opened up to me about the difficulties of raising children in the age of social media.
I'm a graduate of Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism and a graduate of the NYC Teaching Fellows program. I taught special education for several years in New York City public schools and am fluent in Italian (and I love airports, for reasons I can't explain).
My latest essay for The New York Times, entitled When Anorexics Grow Up, explores my experience recovering from an eating disorder.
